Cubs Warming up for match at Moorpark College
LACC @ Moorpark College 9/30/22

Cubs defeat Moorpark College 2-0

The Cubs had not tasted a victory since their 6 game winning winning streak was snapped on September 16th, two weeks ago, when they began the last leg of pre-season with 5 away games in a row. They would go on to tie both MiraCosta and College of the Sequoias before dropping their second loss of the season to Norco College, the Cubs were on a dry spell of victories in 3 games.

In their last game of preseason, the Cubs would travel to Moorpark College and face Moorpark College who defeated the Cubs last year
4-0. This game would be different though, as the Cubs were hungry for another victory and redemption. They would go on to score off the head of Felipe Alvarez after freshmen Nicolas Magana sailed a cross to him and Felipe would finish to beat the Moorpark College Goalkeeper. The half would end 1-0 after LACC failed to finish their other opportunities at goal.

The Cubs would start of the second half with the same momentum of the first and would shrug off a tough strong Moorpark. This time around it would be Felipe Alvarez who would cross a ball to Nicolas Magana for the header finish. The game would end with the score 2-0 and the cubs clinching their 7th win of the season and 7th shutout in 11 games. They now move on to conference with a record of 7-2-2. The Cubs open conference at home versus Pasadena City College who are having a strong start with a
6-2-2 record on October 4th, at LACC at 7pm.
