Hawks fall short in a close game against Shasta College.

On the second night of a three night tournament, the Hawks (1-3) found themselves in a battle with Shasta College (2-1). The Hawks were led in the first half by freshman guard Sarah Hinton who scored 13 points and gathered 4 rebounds. Hinton caught fire in the first half connecting on countless buckets. 

 

The Hawks created seperation throughout the third quarter behind guards Arionna Butts, who ended with 12 points and both five points and assists. Butts made crucial plays thorughout the quarter and helped the team maintain the lead. Shasta began their comback during the fourth quarter as the Hawks put up a head to head battle with time winding down. As the time expiered freshman Briley Jordet poured in back to back buckets, keeping the Hawks in the game. Jordet finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists. 

 

Despite the strong effort the Hawks fell to Shasta, 68-64 and look to get their first win against Los Medanos on Saturday, November 9th.
