LACC clinches 2nd victory in a row over visiting San Bernardino Valley College

On Friday September 2nd, the LACC Men's Soccer Team hosted San Bernardino Valley College to a non-conference match up. This would be a great test for the Cubs as the SBVC was coming in undefeated with a 2 game winning streak to start the season.

The LACC Cubs would start off just as they left off the last game and score within 5 minutes of the start on a cross from a corner kick from Sophomore Felipe Alvarez to Sophomore Ivan Gutierrez. The first half would remain the same as both teams matched each other's energy and LACC would go into the break with a 1-0 lead.

To start the second half, the LACC Cubs would strike once again after freshman Juan Munoz would feed a ball to freshman Fernando Avina and put the Cubs up 2-0. Soon after the San Bernardino Valley College Warriors would have a chance to answer with a penalty kick, but Freshmen Goalkeeper Edward Fletes would go on to make the stop and keep the clean sheet on the scoreboard. LACC would go on minutes later and score their 3rd goal of the match up when Emmanuel Perez fed a ball to Edison Lopez who would finish the attack with a goal with only 15 minutes left in the game. A well-earned victory by the Cubs and second in the season to improve to a 2-1 record.
