Softball Edge By Defending State Champs in Super Regionals

The American River College Softball program saw their season come to an end this past weeked after they were edged by defending state champions, College of San Mateo, in the superegionals of the CCCAA playoffs.  

After dropping the opening game of the series 4-2, the Beavers bounced back in game two with a 5-4 victory with runs by Jayden Diaz, Alexa Garcia, Jaclynn Young, and Caleee Tomlinson.  Forcing a winner take all game three.

Game three did not disappoint and proved to be an instant classic.  College of San Mateo jumped out to an early 3-0 after the top of the 2nd inning, however the Beavers would respond with three runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to tie the game at 3-3.  Trailing 4-3 at the top of the 7th inning, College of San Mateo would add five runs to hold off the Beavers for the 9-3 victory and bid to the CCCAA State Championships.

The Beavers finish the season with a final record of 27-18.
