SBCC experienced second-half shooting woes for the second straight night and Glendale used a 31-point second-half advantage to win the "Battle of the Vaqueros," 76-45, on the second day of the Western State Classic at Bakersfield College.
The teams, who both use the nickname Vaqueros, were tied 27-all at halftime. Glendale (6-10) outshot SBCC 51.4% to 27.3% in the second half and outscored the Vaqueros 49-18. Glendale shot nearly 50% on 3's (6-14) in the second half while SBCC was 0-7.
Joseph Holden hit 7-14 from the field and led Santa Barbara (3-13) with 17 points. Kile Kleiner added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
SBCC made just 29.6% of its field goals and hit 4-of-20 from 3-point range. Glendale shot 42.6% and was 10-30 from long distance.
Glendale's Andre Banton led all scorers with 23 points. Tevan Khudatyan added 10 points and 11 rebounds as Glendale dominated the boards, 50-32.
Santa Barbara returns home for its final non-conference game on Wednesday against Bakersfield at 5 p.m.
