Less than 24 hours after its home debut, Citrus College had to defend its waters again but came up short with two losses at the Citrus Conference Mini on Thursday.
The Owls fell 13-10 to Santa Monica and 17-9 to Cuesta College to slip to 4-12 on the year and 1-2 in Western State Conference action.
Jullian Nichols had six goals, three assists and five steals on the day. Logan Haberle added four goals, three assists and one steal, while Rolan Solis netted two goals, dished out six assists and grabbed three steals in the two games. Gavin Tanner finished with four goals and added an assist and one steal. Nathan Salcedo and Eric Ramirez also scored for the Owls.
Matteo Velasquez finished with 21 saves and six steals on the day.
There's no rest for the Owls as they head to the Riverside City College Tournament on Friday, taking on Cerritos at 10:20 a.m. and Orange Coast College at 1:50 p.m.
