POULOS LEADS PANTHERS AGAINST VENTURA
The Panthers put up an impressive fight tonight as they took on Ventura College at home.
Chaffey put the first points on the board scoring a TD off a Nicholas Poulos 10 yard run to put the Panthers up in lights 6-0. Jacob Meneses knocked his first PAT of the night through the uprights to put Chaffey up by 7 just moments into the 2nd quarter. Three yard by Tayvonne Miller was all it took to bring the Grigsby crowd to their feet as the Panthers expanded the lead to 13. Unfortunately, it would be the final completion of the game for the Chaffey squad.
Despite outpacing VC on nearly every statistical measure, the Panthers took it to the final seconds but were unable to pull off the necessary final goal to tie the game.
Poulos and Miller led the Panthers in rushing with 201 yards combined. Poulos had 245 yards passing as well. Zaire Lozolo was the recipient of most of those passes in the pocket seven times.
The Panthers are on the road until October 22nd but will take on Cerritos and Southwestern in the meantime. The October 22nd game opens the conference season and is the Panthers' annual tailgate game.
